Our girl turned 11 today.  Where does the time go?  She sure is growing up.  She’s sweet & sassy.  And funny.  She can crack me up with the things she says or sometimes just with a look.  She’s in the fifth grade and says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.  She’s learning to play the clarinet this year at school (and doing a great job!).  She loves music & playing school.  She’s on a “puppet team” at church and is preparing to audition for a part in the Christmas musical.  We think she’s a pretty great kid!

The day started with one very HAPPY 11 year old as she FINALLY got her iPod Touch.  She’s been saving her money to pay for half & we had promised her the other half for her birthday.  We were all surprised when we got such a good deal that we could get her some extra fun stuff, including an iTunes gift card for downloading songs and “aps” (whatever that is!).  She was thrilled!

Tonight we had a “spa party” and ten of her friends came over.  It was a night filled with nail polish, games, food, and fun!  Eleven girls make for a LOT of fingers & toes to paint!

Somehow the girl has managed to turn her birthDAY into a birthWEEKEND!  We normally take the kids to dinner on their birthdays at the place of their choice.  Well, since her party was tonight we didn’t go out.  We’ll be having a birthday lunch at Max & Erma’s tomorrow.  Then on Sunday my parents & in-laws are coming down for cake and ice cream.  That’s okay.  I don’t mind celebrating the whole weekend.  She’s worth celebrating!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!  Hope you enjoyed your day.  We love you so much!!
