Heard Around the House (and other places)

June 11, 2010

While walking past the little girls department while shopping…

Me:  Awwww, Tay, just look at those cute dresses.  When you were little you would have worn that.  And that.  And that.  What cute things.  You loved wearing dresses and dress shoes.

Tay:  Thank goodness I’m old enough to dress myself.  Those things are so embarrassing.

For the record:  she always looked precious!

While waiting with Nick to get his haircut we were discussing the various options for his new, shorter cut.  He continues to argue that his long hair looks great and it really doesn’t matter…

Me:  If only you were lucky enough to have a mom and dad who didn’t love you and let you do whatever you wanted.

Nick:  Exactly!  Now would that be so difficult?

At lunch today we were talking about different stores and Tay says she prefers to shop at one certain store (starts with a “T” and ends with an “arget”) over another store (sounds like “mal-mart”) because it’s cleaner and she likes the items they carry better.  So that’s where she’s going to shop when she’s older.  When groceries were mentioned Nick mentioned a store he liked….

Tay:  So is that where you’re going to do all your shopping when you grow up?

Nick:  No, I’ll do all my shopping wherever my wife wants to shop.

Yay!  We ARE raising him right!
