It Still Feels Like Summer

September 1, 2010

Well, school is officially in session.  It still feels like summer.  It’s been so hot.  Maybe we could still finish up a few things on our summer list.

  • see “Ramona and Beezus” & “Eclipse” (just Nick & I will see Eclipse!) We missed Eclipse!  Maybe it’ll be at the cheap cinema or on video soon.
  • visit Sugar Cupcakery – we had planned the quest for the perfect cupcake after discovering the show “Cupcake Wars” only to discover there are only two cupcake bakeries in this area.  Sugar Cupcakery was actually ON the show so we’ll be trying them out soon!  Maybe we’ll convice Brian to drive us downtown to the other bakery.  I hate driving downtown.
  • go to a “dive-in” movie @ The Beach This was planned but the kids decided they did not want to do it after all.
  • swim at The Beach a few more times
  • bowl a few more times – thanks to the “Kids Bowl Free” program
  • go to a farmer’s market  Still time for this!
  • eat lots of tomatoes (they’re finally turning red!) – **I was WRONG.  They have NOT been turning red! Our tomatoes didn’t do much.  Thanks to my parents & a friend who shared their tomatoes & helped me cross this off our list.
  • meet Brian for lunch
  • get ice cream from “Whippy Dip”  or “Tucker’s”  Can’t believe we didn’t do this one!  Maybe this weekend.
  • visit Main Street Sweets in Mason
  • eat breakfast at McDonald’s
  • spend $500 at Game Stop (keep dreaming Nick!) – **He spent $37 there today, does that count?
  • get a cell phone (one of these days Tay, one of these days…) – **She bought a “sock” for the phone she hopes to have someday, does that count?

Next year we’ll make our list at the very beginning of summer.  It’s been fun seeing all the fun stuff we wanted to do and how much we got done.
