Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2013

Happy Valentine’s Day!  It’s been a fun day around here and we’re excited because today was our “Friday”.  We have a nice long weekend! Yay!

I started the day by meeting two of my favorite people for breakfast.  It was supposed to be a “book club” breakfast but only three of us ended up being able to make it.  We had fun – and talked for two hours!

Brian and I don’t usually buy each other gifts for Valentine’s Day but this year we decided to do a little something.  He surprised me with some chocolate covered strawberries (yum!) and a Starbuck’s gift card (love!).

I got him a Packer’s bobble head and a cushion for his desk chair.

(Nothing says “love” quite like a comfy cushion for your bum!)

(I think it said that on the box.)

I always get the kids a little goodie as well.

Nick got candy too but he must have taken that up to his room before I snapped the picture of his cider (he loves the stuff!).

After dinner we had a little entertainment…

Tay was teaching Brian the “cup” game.  Fun stuff!

In addition to Valentine’s Day, we were celebrating a special birthday today.  Guess who’s 3?

Happy Birthday Charlie!

Honestly, we don’t really know when his birthday is but his paperwork had a date listed in February (no idea how anyone came up with that) so Tay and I decided that Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to celebrate his birthday.  He is the perfect example of what a difference love can make in a dog’s life.

Tay wanted me to get him some doggie ice cream for his birthday treat.

I think he likes it!

What a fun day!  We’ll be finishing up our day with Nick’s favorite pie later on.  Yum-o!
